COPIES AFTER OMPIX auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2001. It achieved a price of EUR 11,162.50 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 55 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otto van Veen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Capture of Rome in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 728,750.00 (€ 817,088.99).

Die Arbeit Hercules seated at the foot of a tree in a landscape von Otto van Veen wurde im September 2001 in der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 11.162,50 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 55 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Otto van Veen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Capture of Rome im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 728.750,00 (€ 817.088,99).
