In June 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction The Hascoe Family Collection: Important Czech Art, which included the work Czech czech Cubist Oak Bookcase-Buffet (Kubistická Knihovna Z Dubového Dřeva) by Otakar Novotný. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,297.36). With this result, Czech czech Cubist Oak Bookcase-Buffet (Kubistická Knihovna Z Dubového Dřeva) is even the most expensive work of art by Otakar Novotný that we have observed at auctions so far.
