A top price for Otagaki Rengetsu
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art & Design, which included the work Kyusu and Two Teabowls with a Poem by Otagaki Rengetsu. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,824.00 (€ 5,495.30), 27% above the upper estimate. With this result, Kyusu and Two Teabowls with a Poem is even the most expensive work of art by Otagaki Rengetsu that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Art & Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kyusu and Two Teabowls with a Poem von Otagaki Rengetsu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.824,00 (€ 5.495,30) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Kyusu and Two Teabowls with a Poem sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Otagaki Rengetsu, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
