Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Art, which included the work An Ottoman butcher by Osman Hamdi Bey. The price achieved of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 97,627.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Osman Hamdi Bey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Young Woman Reading in September 2019 with an auction result of GBP 6,690,362.00 (€ 7,549,280.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Ottoman butcher von Osman Hamdi Bey zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 79.250,00 (€ 97.627,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Osman Hamdi Bey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Young Woman Reading im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.690.362,00 (€ 7.549.280,55).
