Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Oscar de las Flores could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Art in Focus auction, the work Jesus Christ Trying To Leave Behind The Chaos In Mexico City After A Jolly Good Time In Brussels changed hands for USD 1,125.00 (€ 875.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Oscar de las Flores have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two works: (i) Shipwreck Survivors, 2004; (ii) Commemorative & Indigestive Celebration of Human Greatness with Octopus in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,541.19).
