Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Coastal Landscape With A Fortified City by Orazio Grevenbroeck was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 16,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,024.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Orazio Grevenbroeck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Mediterranean harbour with a fortified castle and a temple; and An Italianate coastal landscape with galleys in a bay, which sold at auction in April 2002 for GBP 14,340.00 (€ 23,201.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Coastal Landscape With A Fortified City von Orazio Grevenbroeck im Juni 2009 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 16.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.250,00 (€ 8.024,25) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Orazio Grevenbroeck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Mediterranean harbour with a fortified castle and a temple; and An Italianate coastal landscape with galleys in a bay beobachtet, die im April 2002 für GBP 14.340,00 (€ 23.201,74) versteigert wurde.
