Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Mediterranean coastal scene with sailing boats and fishermen on the beach, two three-masters in rough waters and a harbour beyond by Olivier Lemay was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,160.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Olivier Lemay have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ball Given By The Duke De Liancourt For The Countess De Rochechouart, At Lisieux in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,314.49).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 2.160,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
