Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Waiting For A Friend by Oliver Rhys was sold in the British and Victorian Paintings auction at Christies in London in September 2004. The price achieved of GBP 1,314.50 (€ 1,915.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oliver Rhys achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Venetian Fruit Seller in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,166.49).

Die Arbeit Waiting For A Friend von Oliver Rhys wurde im September 2004 in der Auktion British and Victorian Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.314,50 (€ 1.915,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oliver Rhys erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Venetian Fruit Seller im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.600,00 (€ 23.166,49).
