The work A Mother and Child curling Twine by Oliver Rhys was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2003. The price achieved of USD 7,767.50 (€ 7,206.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oliver Rhys - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Venetian Fruit Seller, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,166.49).
