This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 120,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Olga de Amaral; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Cesta Lunar 50A sold at auction in November 2018 with the realized price of USD 555,000.00 (€ 490,152.79).
