Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The four-masted barquentine Renfield under full sail by O. Godfrey was sold in the Maritime auction at Christies in London in May 2003. The price achieved of GBP 446.50 (€ 622.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by O. Godfrey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Clan Macpherson Under Full Sail Passing An Iceberg, which sold at auction in May 2006 for GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,926.77).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 446,50 (€ 622,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von O.
