In the An Inquiring Mind: American Collecting of Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Paired Calligraphies: Ripening Tea and Vast and Calm, 1841 changed hands for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,455.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nukina Kaioku - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winter landscape, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 5,736.00 (€ 5,262.39).
