Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Nukina Kaioku could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the An Inquiring Mind: American Collecting of Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Mountain Path and Bamboo Window, 1839 changed hands for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,567.82) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nukina Kaioku - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winter landscape, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 5,736.00 (€ 5,262.39).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nukina Kaioku konnte im April 2015 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion An Inquiring Mind: American Collecting of Japanese and Korean Art wechselte die Arbeit Mountain Path and Bamboo Window, 1839 für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.567,82) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Nukina Kaioku mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Winter landscape beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 5.736,00 (€ 5.262,39) versteigert wurde.
