Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Noah Between Curtains by Norrel Blair was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 700.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 229.50 (€ 213.87). Admittedly, works by Norrel Blair have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Carlos & Christian in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,188.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Noah Between Curtains von Norrel Blair im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 229,50 (€ 213,87) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Norrel Blair auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Carlos & Christian im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.188,15).
