Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for 'Tom Sawyer (Huck Teaching Tom and Joe to Smoke)' by Norman Rockwell was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 175,000.00 (€ 147,083.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Rockwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saying Grace in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 46,085,000.00 (€ 33,445,823.35).

Die Arbeit Study for 'Tom Sawyer (Huck Teaching Tom and Joe to Smoke)' von Norman Rockwell kam im November 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 147.083,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Rockwell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saying Grace im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.085.000,00 (€ 33.445.823,35).
