Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Age of Consent, 1937 by Norman Lindsay was sold in the The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionA Curated Salon auction at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 22,140.00 (€ 13,269.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Lindsay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Springs Innocence in November 2002 with an auction result of AUD 329,000.00 (€ 185,534.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Age of Consent, 1937 von Norman Lindsay wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionA Curated Salon bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 22.140,00 (€ 13.269,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Lindsay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Springs Innocence im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 329.000,00 (€ 185.534,53).
