Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Troika At Sunset by Nikolai Sverchkov was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2012. The price achieved of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 208,498.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nikolai Sverchkov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Emperor Alexander II And Kaiser Wilhelm I In A Carriage With A View Of The Peter-Paul Fortress, St. Petersburg, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 341,250.00 (€ 490,886.28).
