Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Russian Art, which included the work Russian The Winter Hunt, 1879 by Nikolai Sverchkov. Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 85,000.00 (€ 54,599.18). Admittedly, works by Nikolai Sverchkov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Emperor Alexander II And Kaiser Wilhelm I In A Carriage With A View Of The Peter-Paul Fortress, St. Petersburg in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 341,250.00 (€ 490,886.28).
