Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Difficult Journey by Nikolai Sverchkov was sold in the Russian Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in June 2008. The price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 47,085.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nikolai Sverchkov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Emperor Alexander II And Kaiser Wilhelm I In A Carriage With A View Of The Peter-Paul Fortress, St. Petersburg in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 341,250.00 (€ 490,886.28).
