Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Norwegian juninatt I Haven (A Night In June In The Garden) by Nikolai Astrup was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in December 2017. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 56,267.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nikolai Astrup - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Norwegian ålhustunet, Jølster, which sold at auction in November 2013 for GBP 158,500.00 (€ 190,733.54).
