A top price for Nikolai Astrup - as previously expected
In November 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Norwegian ålhustunet, Jølster by Nikolai Astrup. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 158,500.00 (€ 190,733.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Norwegian ålhustunet, Jølster is the most expensive artwork by Nikolai Astrup that we have observed at auctions so far.
