Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME PICTURES, which included the work Sighting the quarry from the deck of the corsair by Niels Simonsen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 37,203.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Niels Simonsen have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2016 the work Turkish sailors on watch was auctioned for GBP 47,500.00 (€ 55,535.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion MARITIME PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sighting the quarry from the deck of the corsair von Niels Simonsen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 37.203,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Niels Simonsen konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2016 die Arbeit Turkish sailors on watch für GBP 47.500,00 (€ 55.535,21) versteigert.
