Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Fine Nineteeth Century European Art, which included the work A cozy corner by Niels Holsøe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,637.50 (€ 9,000.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Niels Holsøe have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March this year the work Interior with engravings on the walls, Thorvaldsen's figure “Cupid Triumphant, Examining His Arrow” on the chest of drawers, and sunlight on the door was auctioned for DKK 70,000.00 (€ 9,393.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine Nineteeth Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A cozy corner von Niels Holsøe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.637,50 (€ 9.000,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Niels Holsøe konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im März diesen Jahres die Arbeit Interior with engravings on the walls, Thorvaldsen's figure “Cupid Triumphant, Examining His Arrow” on the chest of drawers, and sunlight on the door für DKK 70.000,00 (€ 9.393,86) versteigert.
