Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint Roch in a landscape, a town beyond by Niccolò Giolfino was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2018. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,015.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Niccolò Giolfino have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Three scenes from the Life of Cato the Younger: Cato tries to kill himself with a dagger; The wounded Cato cured by the physician; and Cato's death in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 95,289.20).
