The »bidding war« ended at GBP 73,250.00 (€ 84,065.33), 22% above the upper estimate. Other works by Niccolò Giolfino have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 95,289.20) in July 2010 for the work Three scenes from the Life of Cato the Younger: Cato tries to kill himself with a dagger; The wounded Cato cured by the physician; and Cato's death.
