Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2000 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century Art, which included the work The Bay of Naples with an American frigate by Nicolino Calyo. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,625.00 (€ 9,008.77). Admittedly, works by Nicolino Calyo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work American Landscape with Indians in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 88,200.00 (€ 75,108.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Bay of Naples with an American frigate von Nicolino Calyo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.625,00 (€ 9.008,77) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicolino Calyo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit American Landscape with Indians im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 75.108,58).
