Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Design For A Frontispiece, With King Louis Xiv Seated On A Throne Beside Abundance And Other Allegorical Figures by Nicolas-Pierre Loir was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings auction at Sothebys in London in July 2010. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,011.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas-Pierre Loir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Triumph of Bacchus in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,214.97).
