Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2007 Christies in London held the auction Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Silver & Russian Works of Art, which included the work Unknown by Nicolas Claude Vassal. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 250.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 275.00 (€ 373.68). Admittedly, works by Nicolas Claude Vassal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a gentleman, perhaps the architect Jacques Gondouin (1737-1818) in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,111.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Silver & Russian Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Nicolas Claude Vassal zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 250,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 275,00 (€ 373,68) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicolas Claude Vassal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, perhaps the architect Jacques Gondouin (1737-1818) im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.890,00 (€ 2.111,30).
