This artwork by Nicolas Bernard Lépicié achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2005. In the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction, the work A bearded man, three-quarter-length, seated with his hands folded in his lap sold for USD 45,600.00 (€ 34,945.21) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nicolas Bernard Lépicié have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Louis-Philippe, Duc De Valois, Au Berceau in September 2015 with an auction result of EUR 231,000.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nicolas Bernard Lépicié erzielte im Januar 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings wurde die Arbeit A bearded man, three-quarter-length, seated with his hands folded in his lap für USD 45.600,00 (€ 34.945,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicolas Bernard Lépicié auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Louis-Philippe, Duc De Valois, Au Berceau im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 231.000,00.
