In April 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Le Zèle De Matthatias by Nicolas Bernard Lépicié for EUR 18,750.00. This price was achieved in the auction Tableaux anciens et du XIXe siècle at Christies in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas Bernard Lépicié achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Louis-Philippe, Duc De Valois, Au Berceau in September 2015 with an auction result of EUR 231,000.00.
