The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,000.00 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolaas van der Waay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Een werkstaking: Strike of the Ballerinas in May 2010 with an auction result of EUR 40,600.00.

Die Arbeit Young women von Nicolaas van der Waay wurde im Februar 2008 in der Auktion Pictures,Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.000,00 und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicolaas van der Waay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Een werkstaking: Strike of the Ballerinas im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 40.600,00.
