A top price for Nicolaas van der Waay - as previously expected
The work Een werkstaking: Strike of the Ballerinas by Nicolaas van der Waay was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 40,600.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Een werkstaking: Strike of the Ballerinas is the most expensive artwork by Nicolaas van der Waay that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Een werkstaking: Strike of the Ballerinas von Nicolaas van der Waay kam im Mai 2010 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 40.600,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Een werkstaking: Strike of the Ballerinas das teuerste Kunstwerk von Nicolaas van der Waay, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
