Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Discoveries, which included the work Untitled (Boy) by Nicholas Byrne. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,394.00 (€ 2,816.31), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicholas Byrne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Accent Support, which sold at auction in March 2017 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,056.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Discoveries durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Boy) von Nicholas Byrne zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.394,00 (€ 2.816,31) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Byrne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Accent Support beobachtet, die im März 2017 für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.056,82) versteigert wurde.
