The work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a black brocade doublet and cloak, with a lace collar, holding a pair of gloves; and Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a cartwheel ruff, gold and black embroidered bodice and black brocade skirt by Nicolaes Eliasz. Pickenoy was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2020. It achieved a price of GBP 400,000.00 (€ 446,835.65), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicolaes Eliasz. Pickenoy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a man in black holding a pair of kid leather gloves; Portrait of a lady in black holding a pair of kid leather and coral silk gloves, which sold at auction in January last year for USD 1,084,800.00 (€ 967,534.78).

Pickenoy kam im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 400.000,00 (€ 446.835,65) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Pickenoy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of a man in black holding a pair of kid leather gloves; Portrait of a lady in black holding a pair of kid leather and coral silk gloves beobachtet, die im Januar letzten Jahres für USD 1.084.800,00 (€ 967.534,78) versteigert wurde.
