A top price for Nguyen Do Cung - as previously expected
The work Tonkinese Landscape by Nguyen Do Cung was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. The price achieved of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 41,086.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 280,000.00 – 480,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Tonkinese Landscape is the most expensive artwork by Nguyen Do Cung that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Tonkinese Landscape von Nguyen Do Cung wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 41.086,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 280.000,00 – 480.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Tonkinese Landscape das teuerste Kunstwerk von Nguyen Do Cung, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
