A top price for Nelson Shanks
When the work Diana, Princess of Wales by Nelson Shanks was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than ten times as high at USD 201,600.00 (€ 179,807.35). This high result makes Diana, Princess of Wales the most expensive artwork by Nelson Shanks that we have observed at auctions so far.
