Auction result well in line with expectations
In January this year Christies held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Untitled (Praising God) by Nellie Mae Rowe. The price achieved of USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,320.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nellie Mae Rowe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orange Mule Prancing, 1980 in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,643.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies die Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Praising God) von Nellie Mae Rowe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.520,00 (€ 2.320,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nellie Mae Rowe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orange Mule Prancing, 1980 im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.643,79).
