In January this year Christies held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Untitled (Picture of Me) by Nellie Mae Rowe. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,410.00 (€ 4,061.52), 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Nellie Mae Rowe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orange Mule Prancing, 1980 in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,643.79).

Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies die Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Picture of Me) von Nellie Mae Rowe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.410,00 (€ 4.061,52) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nellie Mae Rowe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orange Mule Prancing, 1980 im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.643,79).
