Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Showa Era (1926-1989), 1982 by Nakayama Tadashi was sold in the Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono auction at Bonhams in New York in September 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 881.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Nakayama Tadashi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Girl and sunflower) Akai fuku (Red coat) Futatsu no kazaguruma (Shojo) (Girl with two pinwheels) Himawari o daku (Holding a sunflower) Kaze (Shojo) (Girl in the wind) Hana to shojo (Girl and flowers) Oriru tori (Alighting bird) Oriru tori ( in March 2000 with an auction result of USD 5,175.00 (€ 5,405.26
