The work Aftermath of War by Najat Makki was sold in the 20th Century Art / Middle East auction at Sothebys in London in March last year. It achieved a price of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,975.49), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Admittedly, works by Najat Makki have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work What Happens Behind Closed Doors in October 2007 with an auction result of USD 63,400.00 (€ 43,820.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Aftermath of War von Najat Makki wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.975,49) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Najat Makki auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit What Happens Behind Closed Doors im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 63.400,00 (€ 43.820,85).
