Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The High Dam by Mostafa Ahmed was auctioned at Bonhams in London in June 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,006.60). Admittedly, works by Mostafa Ahmed have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Labourers in November last year with an auction result of GBP 12,112.50 (€ 14,035.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The High Dam von Mostafa Ahmed im Juni 2019 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.006,60) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mostafa Ahmed auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Labourers im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.112,50 (€ 14.035,62).
