The work Snake by Mose Tolliver was sold in the Outsider Art auction at Christies in New York in February last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,447.79), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mose Tolliver; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Statue of Liberty), circa 1980 sold at auction in January 2021 with the realized price of USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,545.12).

Die Arbeit Snake von Mose Tolliver wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.447,79) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mose Tolliver; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Untitled (Statue of Liberty), circa 1980 im Januar 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.545,12).
