Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Morton Livingston Schamberg could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Composition changed hands for USD 18,900.00 (€ 15,453.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Morton Livingston Schamberg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Painting Vi (Camera Flashlight, Machine Still Life) in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 965,000.00 (€ 775,848.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Morton Livingston Schamberg konnte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Composition für USD 18.900,00 (€ 15.453,80) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Morton Livingston Schamberg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Painting Vi (Camera Flashlight, Machine Still Life) im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 965.000,00 (€ 775.848,21).
