Auction result well in line with expectations
The work We Still Love You Just As Much As Ever, General Lee by Mort Künstler was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 25,280.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mort Künstler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Keep To Your Sabers, Men! (Generals Custer And Hampton, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 3, 1863), which sold at auction in April 2012 for USD 98,500.00 (€ 74,457.63).
