This artwork by Daido Moriyama achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2008. In the Photographs auction, the work Smash-up from 'Accident', 1969 sold for GBP 31,700.00 (€ 40,323.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. This high result makes Smash-up from 'Accident', 1969 the most expensive artwork by Daido Moriyama that we have observed at auctions so far.
