DAIDO MORIYAMA (B. 1938) Various Works, c. 1980s three ferrotyped gelatin silver prints each signed in pencil (verso); two with various annotation in red ink (margins and verso); each work credited, titled and dated on affixed Certificate of Authenticity (frame backing boards) each image approximately: 11 7 ⁄ 8 x 8 in. (30.1 x 20.3 cm.) each sheet: 12 x 10 in. (30.4 x 25.4 cm.) Each work accompanied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity dated February 10, 2005.

The work Various Works, c. 1980s by Daido Moriyama was sold in the A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection auction at Christies in London in October this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,942.09), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Daido Moriyama have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Smash-up from 'Accident', 1969 in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 31,700.00 (€ 40,323.79).

Die Arbeit Various Works, c. 1980s von Daido Moriyama wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.450,00 (€ 8.942,09) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Daido Moriyama auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Smash-up from 'Accident', 1969 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.700,00 (€ 40.323,79).
