Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2000 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist and 19th Century Art, which included the work Taking tea by the banks of the river Nile, Egypt by Moritz Stifter. The price achieved of GBP 2,937.50 (€ 5,028.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Moritz Stifter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Rhamazan Bride in October 2007 with an auction result of USD 55,000.00 (€ 38,014.93).
