Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2009 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work A Peruvian landscape: two men on horseback following a dusty track, a volcano in the background by Moritz Rugendas. The price achieved of USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,928.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Moritz Rugendas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Die Schlucht von Beltrán (Mexiko). in May 2013 with an auction result of EUR 21,960.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Peruvian landscape: two men on horseback following a dusty track, a volcano in the background von Moritz Rugendas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.928,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Moritz Rugendas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Die Schlucht von Beltrán (Mexiko). im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 21.960,00.
