Auction result well in line with expectations
The work South African Ditaola (Frame Iv), Ditaola Series, 2014 by Mohau Modisakeng was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,178.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mohau Modisakeng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work South Africanuntitled, Qhatha Series, 2010 - 2011, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,040.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit South African Ditaola (Frame Iv), Ditaola Series, 2014 von Mohau Modisakeng kam im April 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.178,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Mohau Modisakeng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit South Africanuntitled, Qhatha Series, 2010 - 2011 beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 27.040,69) versteigert wurde.
