Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A still life with flowers in a vase, a bottle and an apple on a table by Mogens Vantore was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of NLG 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for NLG 2,350.00 (€ 1,028.31). Other works by Mogens Vantore have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2003 by the work A street scene in Montmartre, Sacre Coeur beyond at GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,026.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A still life with flowers in a vase, a bottle and an apple on a table von Mogens Vantore im Januar 2001 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von NLG 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für NLG 2.350,00 (€ 1.028,31) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Mogens Vantore wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juni 2003 die Arbeit A street scene in Montmartre, Sacre Coeur beyond mit GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.026,25).
